The YWCA Northcentral PA will have "Flowers for Family Peace" available for sale to the public from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the YWCA, 815 W. Fourth St.
All proceeds benefit the Wise Options program - a safe haven and source of support, help and hope to women, men and children facing domestic violence, sexual assault and other violent crimes in Lycoming County.
This year, Family Peace is once again represented by the osteopermum flower, more commonly known as the cape daisy. These flowers, provided locally by Helminiak's Greenhouse, are a bright purple annual representing our commitment as a community to work for prevention and education and a promise to remember victims of domestic violence and sexual assault.
"This is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate spring while showing your commitment to change and growth in our community," said Anna Thompson, communications and development Manager.
"With your help, we can provide a safe haven where survivors feel comfortable and able to come forward and heal."
The YWCA is thankful to be part of such a supportive community.
