Doris Ann Gower, 72, of McElhattan, passed away Saturday, May 4, 2013, at the Williamsport Regional Medical Center.
She was born in Jersey Shore on Jan. 12, 1941, a daughter of John H. and Ida Mae Entz Myers. She married Harold L. Gower on Dec. 23, 1957, and he passed away in August of 2008. Doris worked for Weldons for many years. She was a member of the Newberry Church of Christ. She enjoyed word search puzzles, watching pro wrestling, "Gunsmoke," "Bonanza," and "Little House on the Prairie." She loved spending time with family and loved ones.
Her survivors include her children, Harold P. Gower of McElhattan, Deborah A. (Gregg) Lose of Linden and Kimberly J. (David) Harger of Avis; four grandchildren, Gregg, Hilary, Celia and Charlene; along with five great-grandchildren, Edward, Alan, Riley, Kalib and Nicholas; her Godson, Jacob Hatch of Avis; four brothers, Robert, Sam, David and Randy Myers; and five sisters, Cora McClarin, Mary Edwards, Stella McKean, Sandy Brooks and Ida Lutz. She was predeceased by a sister, Shirley Eck; a brother, John Myers Jr.; and a granddaughter, Christina Capecci.
Doris' Life Celebration will begin with a visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 8, 2013, at the Rearick-Carpenter Funeral Home, "A Life Celebration Home," 1002 Allegheny St., Jersey Shore, where services will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. with her Pastor Rev. Ron Savits officiating. Interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park. Her family suggests contributions be made to the Clinton County SPCA, 33 Mill Hill Road, Lock Haven, PA 17745.
