Bernard C. Haas, 83, of 322 Adams St., Williamsport, passed away Tuesday May 7, 2013, at home.
He was born in Williamsport on June 2, 1929, the son of Charles and Frances Lorsong Haas. Bernard was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church and was a Eucharistic Minister at the Williamsport Home. He was a Williamsport High School graduate and belonged to the Notre Dame Club. He retired from Acme Markets after 38 years of service. He enjoyed traveling, hunting and camping.
Bernard is survived by his wife of 63 years, the former Jean Hanford Haas. He is also survived by his children and their families, Bernard R. (Pamela) Haas, James (deceased) (Gail) Haas, Linda (Charles) Gizenski, Susan (Tom) Wolf and Michael (Lisa) Haas; grandchildren, Brittany Haas (April), Nick Haas, Jason (Amy) Haas, Craig (Jenn) Haas, Joanne Bowman, Charles (Elizabeth) Gizenski Jr., Lindsey (Lance) Waltz, Jenny (Barry) Hill, Michelle Haas (Nate) and Neil Haas; great-grand-child- ren, Everett, Eva, Alivia, Liam, Elizabeth, Samantha, Toni and B.J. (Anna); and a great-great-grandchild, Isaac; as well as many nieces and nephews; also his sisters, Arlene Little and Rita Johnston.
A sister, Ruth Franquet, preceded him in death.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in St. Boniface Catholic Church, 326 Washington Blvd., Williamsport, on Friday morning at 9:30 a.m. Friends may call at the church on Friday morning from 8 to 9:15 a.m. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Montoursville, at the convenience of the family. Crouse Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
