James E. Goehrig Sr., 63, of 77 Geronimo Trail, McElhattan, passed away Thursday, May 9, 2013, at The Gatehouse at Divine Providence Hospital.
He was born in Williamsport on July 16, 1949; the son of Mary Louise Glunk Goehrig, who survives in Williamsport, and the late Jack Goehrig.
Jim was a 1967 graduate of Loyalsock Township High School. Following graduation he served six years in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War.
Jim was married to the former Sandra MacMinn for 43 years. They were married on Dec. 13, 1969, at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, in Williamsport.
Jim was employed by Pennsylvania Power and Light for 43 years before his retirement in 2010.
He attended Great Island Presbyterian Church, Lock Haven. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved spending time with his family and vacationing at the beach.
Jim is survived by his wife Sandra, two sons, James Jr. (Tracey), of Virginia, and Michael (Erin), of Georgia, and one daughter, Rachael Bischof (Jason), of McElhattan. Also surviving are ten grandchildren: Zoe, Shiya, Alexandra, Caprice, Chloe, Claire, Jared, Ashley, Michael James and Zachary.
A memorial service will be held Monday, May 13, 2013, at 7 p.m. at the Great Island Presbyterian Church, Lock Haven, with the Rev. Benjamin Lins officiating. Friends will be received at the church from 6 p.m. until the time of the service.
Memorial contributions may be made to The Life Center of Lock Haven through the funeral home.
