Volvo Rents is all about serving local residents as well as the construction, natural gas and other industries.
"We are here to take care of everyone," said Jim Walton, branch manager of Volvo's Montoursville site.
Volvo rents out heavy equipment and various other residential and industrial equipment. It also services many of those same products. Volvo has been open since October at 2968 Barney's Lane, just west of the Green Bridge spanning Loyalsock Creek. Ten employees have been kept busy since that time working out of the site.

"We are growing every month," he said.
Volvo Rents is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Volvo Group, one of the leading suppliers of commercial transport solutions. The local store is one of more than 100 located in the U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico, Walton noted. Certainly, the natural gas industry has much to do with the company locating a store here. But Walton said Volvo is here for more than just the gas industry.
"We really want to conquer the local business group that's been here for 25 years," he said.

The hope, he said, is to capture much of the State College and Scranton markets as well. At the store site can be found wheel loaders, backhoes and other heavy equipment.
But the business caters to customers in need of nothing more than chain saws, generators and other household needs.
"We do truly do whatever we can to help the homeowner," he said. "We can fix peoples' lawnmowers and chain saws. We have a full operational service department."
Walton said even if a store customer can't find a particular piece, that doesn't mean it can't be found.
"If we don't have it, we will go get it," he said.
As the store continues to grow, more services will be offered. A propane filling station is expected to be added at some point.
Walton said he's most proud of its safety and operating principles.
"Our core values are above and beyond everyone else in this business," he said.
Walton said the Volvo is a community partner and involved in charitable functions too.
Officials are planning an open house at the site on a date to be determined.
