LEWISBURG - The Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at Bucknell University will offer two workshops with Victoria Mavis on May 21. Both workshops will be held in the SBDC Business Education Center, Room 308 of the DeWitt Building at 416 Market St.
Mavis, who is president of Core People Resources, is the author of Building the Ultimate Network. She has more than 20 years of experience in hospitality, local government, manufacturing, medical services, non-profits and retail.
The first workshop, "Leverage Employee Performance through Job Descriptions," will be held from 10 a.m. to noon. Mavis will share tips on writing effective job descriptions that enhance employee performance, how to leverage job descriptions and performance reviews to improve employee morale, and how job coaches can increase performance for employees with disabilities.
The second workshop, "Employee Discipline and Termination Made Easy (and Legal)," will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Mavis will share tips on creating an effective discipline policy, learning how to conduct investigations and document employee discipline and termination, and how to identify when an attorney should be called.

Workshops have been submitted to the HR Certification Institute for review; attendees can request the HR certification.
Mavis also will present the workshop, "The Devil is in the Details: The Top 10 Mistakes Which Cost Your Company Big Profits," from 10 a.m. to noon June 26.
