James E. Womeldorf, 69, of Montoursville, passed away Tuesday, May 14, 2013, at the Gatehouse in Divine Providence Hospital. He was born Oct. 26, 1943, in Durham, N.C., a son of Ralph E. and Mildred I. Gummo Womeldorf.
Jim graduated from Bald Eagle Nittany High School in 1962, and served in the Army from 1966 to 1969. He worked for Stroehmann Bros. Bakery for 22 years as a route salesman, and had owned Baker's Key Service for five years. Jim had also worked for Milton Transportation and System Freight as a tractor trailer driver, and also drove tri-axle for his son-in-law, Bryan Klotz for different Gas Companies. He was a member of Faith United Methodist Church in Montoursville, the L.O.O.M. in Jersey Shore, the Jersey Shore American Legion, the 40 et 8 in Williamsport, and was a lifetime member of the Harmonia Club.
On March 16, 1973, he married the former Barbara L. Steinbacher, with whom he just celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are three daughters, Tonja (Robert) Secules, Carmen (Bryan) Klotz and Jami (Thomas) Cordell; six grandchildren, Felicia (Justin) Gross, Chelsea Klotz, Cody Klotz, Nicholas Secules, Kurtis Lentz and Maddison Cordell; two great-grandchildren, Kaedance and Max Gross; and a brother, Ralph Womeldorf.
A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, May 23, 2013, at Faith United Methodist Church, 700 Fairview Dr., Montoursville, with Rev. Larry L. Leland officiating. Friends will be received on the day of the service from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church.
