Mary R. Dunkle, 88, of Lock Haven, passed away on Thursday, May 16, 2013, at The Gateway House, Divine Providence Hospital, Williamsport. Born on March 8, 1925, in Howard, she was the daughter of the late M. Roy and Carrie B. Wensel Oyler.
In 1973, she married Fred Powell, who passed in 1979. In 1986, she married Paul Howe, who passed away in 2004. In 2010, she married Herbert Dunkle who survives at home.
Mary was of the Protestant faith. She was a homemaker for most of her adult life. She worked for a short time at Piper Aircraft in Lock Haven, and the IGA Market, also in Lock Haven.
Mary is survived by her husband; one son, William R. Lyons, and his wife, Mary, of Muncy; and one brother, Melvin W. Oyler, and his wife, "Sunshine," of Orlando, Fla. Also surviving are her three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Along with her parents and two husbands, Mary was preceded in death by a son, Melvin L. Lyons.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 21, 2013, at 2 p.m. at the Kader-Neff Funeral Home, 135 W. Main St., Howard, with Pastor Robert Maurer officiating. Burial will follow at Schenck's Cemetery, Howard Township.
