George E. Laidacker Jr., 86, of Mountain Road, Montoursville, passed away Tuesday, May 21, 2013, at his daughter's home in Allenwood.
Born Dec. 23, 1926, in South Williamsport, he was the son of the late George E. and Emma P. (Werner) Laidacker. He was married to the former Helen L. Wertz on July 19, 1947, and they have celebrated 65 years of marriage.
He was a truck driver for Kepler Brothers. After retirement he operated Laidacker's Salvage Company and Junk Yard with his father.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a lifetime member of the Watsontown American Legion.
He enjoyed fishing.
Surviving besides his wife are a son and daughter-in-law, George E., III and Jane Laidacker of Watsontown; two daughters and sons-in-law, Sherie A. and Merrill Auker and Pat M. and Larry Miller, all of Allenwood; eleven grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren, and a sister, Joanne Shoemaker of New Columbia.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Shawn Auker.
A memorial service will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family. No visitation.
