Annual strawberry festival
TURBOTVILLE - The Warrior Run Fort Freeland Heritage Society will be hosting their annual strawberry festival 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 9 at the Historic Warrior Run Church, at the intersection of Eighth Street Drive and Susquehanna Trail, just before the Warrior Run High School.
Homemade ice cream, strawberry pie, shortcake, burgers, hot dogs, ham barbecue and drinks.
There also will be an antique car display, apprentice program demonstrations and a silent auction. Also a hymn sing with Randy Watts at 1 p.m. Visit www.freelandfarm.org.
Annual river float to benefit Children's Miracle Network
BLOOMSBURG - A kayak-canoe river float benefiting Children's Miracle Network at Geisinger will take place at 1 p.m. June 9, at the Bloomsburg Town Park. Participants are asked to gather at noon.
Participants will paddle approximately 10 miles down the Susquehanna River to Riverside Adventure Company in Danville. Kayaks and canoes are available for rent to registered participants. The registration fee is $20.
There will be an additional $25 rental fee for a kayak and a $35 rental fee for a tandem kayak or canoe.
A boxed lunch option is available at the cost of $8. Lunches must be reserved in advance.
The funds raised by this event will help to provide pediatric equipment, programs and services at Janet Weis Children's Hospital and throughout Geisinger Health System.

Clinton County Fair Association to hold 5K
The Clinton County Fair Association is sponsoring its first all ages Kels Lomison 5K at the fairgrounds June 15.
Participants may enter alone or with a team. Making creative uniforms for teams is encouraged.
There will be three different courses; one for adults ages 14 and up, a mini-mudder for ages 9 to 13 and a peewee-mudder for ages 4 to 8. All participants will receive a free "Kels Lomison Mud Run" t-shirt and a drink.
All proceeds will benefit the new permanent Kels Lomison Memorial Stage that is being planned at the fairgrounds. The event will be held in conjunction with this year's Stars and Stripes On the Hill.
