Louise A. Zwisle, 98, of 1900 Ravine Road, Williamsport, died Wednesday May 29, 2013, at the Williamsport Home.
She was born in Avis, Pa., Dec. 5, 1914, the daughter of George and Amanda DeLafontain Lachat. She graduated from Avis High School Class of 1932. Louise had been a member of Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church. She was an avid bingo player especially at Station No. 2 in Linden. She was a loyal fan of the Duke Blue Devils Basketball and Pittsburgh Steelers.
During World War II, she worked the night shift at Avco as a lathe operator. She had also been employed by Reeves Parvin Wholesale Foods and Philco Electric. She retired from Pickelner Fuel Co. as office manager and bookkeeper.
She is survived by her son, Jack C. Zwisle Jr. of Linden, Pa.; grandchildren, Dina Lewis (Jeff Herron), John Zwisle (Lana) and Matthew Zwisle (Brenda); great-grandchildren, Danielle, Brittany, Devon, Nathan, Madison and great-great-grandchildren, Aidan and Abram.
There will be no visitation and the funeral services will be private. Crouse Funeral home is handling the services.
