Andrew Kriebel, who was diagnosed as a child with Angelman Syndrome and lost the use of his legs in 2009, over the last nine months has painstakingly regained his strength with the help of his trainer and doctors. On Friday, he will walk the 2.5 miles from his home at 318 Westland Ave. in DuBoistown to Central Elementary School, 555 W. Mountain Ave., in South Williamsport.
Leaving home at about 8:30 a.m. and walking with his nurse and two aides from the school, his route will take him:
North on Westland Avenue, one block
Right (east) on Highland Avenue for six blocks
Right (south) on Arlington Street for one block
Left on West Southern Avenue for one block
Right on Brown Street for two blocks
Left on West Mountain Avenue
Right to school (he expects to be there by 10 a.m.).
Those who would like to support Andrew are encouraged to come out and cheer him on.
Following his walk, a party is scheduled at the DuBoistown VFW, where food will be for sale and entertainment will be provided by Lou Mauro. The party is open to the public.
