Isabel J. O'Connor, 95, formerly of Avis and Susque-View Home in Lock Haven, left the loving arms of her family into the loving arms of the Lord on June 2, 2013, in Lock Haven Hospital.
Isabel was born Oct. 3, 1917, in Pittsburgh, a daughter of the late Lulu (Hess) and Charles B. Mallory. She was raised in Rebersburg and was a 1934 graduate of Miles Township High School.
On March 22, 1943, Isabel was married to Terence F. O'Connor who preceded her in death in 1987.
A homemaker, Isabel was also a licensed beautician who enjoyed being with her family, playing her organ and piano, writing poetry and music, gardening, sewing and doing crossword puzzles.
Isabel was a faithful member of the St. Luke's Catholic Church.
Isabel is survived by a son, Terence (Jo Ann) O'Connor of Mill Hall; a daughter, Sarah (Bernie) Burke of Breezewood, Pa.; along with five grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Eleanor Probst of Avis and brothers, James Mallory of Rebersburg and Charles (Chug) Mallory of Lock Haven.
A Memorial Mass will be held 10 a.m. Monday, June 17, 2013, at the St. Luke's Catholic Church, 120 Kendall Ave., Jersey Shore, with Rev. Bert Kozen, celebrant. Burial will follow in Jersey Shore Cemetery.
Arrangements are entrusted to the Rearick-Carpenter Funeral Home, Ltd., "A Life Celebration Home," Jersey Shore, Pa.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Susque-View Home, 22 Cree Drive, Lock Haven, PA 17745 or a charity of choice.
