After finishing in the top 10 at the Odyssey of the Mind World Games 2013, the Loyalsock Township School Board honored its two teams Wednesday.
"We truly appreciate the work you've done," said Robert Grantier, superintendent.
The Schick Elementary School team placed fifth in Division 1 of The Email Must Go Through. Loyalsock Township Middle School placed 10th in It's How You Look at it.
"It's a season that starts early and never ends," said Robert Gaetano, middle school principal, on the amount of time participants put into the activity.
Rosemary Schranghamer, middle school coach, said the team had "incredible" scores and she was proud of the team.
"They just did awesome," she said.
Mark Porter, elementary school coach, said the district is "fortunate" to have such a supportive school board.
Grantier said it makes sense to support the students in a great academic activity.
"What I really enjoy about OM is we actually award a thought process," he said.
In other business, Grantier announced that a decision on the location of graduation will be made today. The district will look at the upcoming weather forecast to decide if it will be held at the football stadium or in the gymnasium.
Grantier said the decision would be announced to students and their families using parentlink and other platforms. And although seating may be at a premium if held inside, overflow seating will be available in the auditorium with a screen to watch the ceremony.
The next school board meeting is scheduled to be held at 7 p.m. June 18 at the administration building.
