Sarah M. Herritt, of South Williamsport, died Sunday, June 9 2013, at the home of her daughter.
Born in Williamsport July 29, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Celia Wheeland Ogden.
Sarah was a graduate of Jersey Shore High School. She attended South Williamsport United Methodist Church. Sarah spent much of her life in retail sales and was the former owner of Ann and Andi's Gifts and News in Montoursville.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Stewart H. Herritt; a brother, Eugene H. Ogden and four sisters, Dorothy Peterson, Eleanor Hale, Margaret Bateman and Sylvia Brobst.
Surviving are a son, S. Eugene (Sally) Herritt of Shippensburg; a daughter, Ann (Tom) Henry of Tunkhannock; four grandchildren, Andrea Herritt Vacharat of St. John's, USVI, Amanda Zitzelman of Simpson, Courtney Johnston of Tunkhannock and Seth Johnston of Wilkes-Barre; one great-grandson, Lyric Vacharat; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Thursday at Sanders Mortuary, 821 Diamond St., Williamsport, with her pastor, Rev. Mark Brumbach officiating. Burial will follow in Montoursville Cemetery. A visitation will be held 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Sanders Mortuary.
