Daisy M. DiMassimo, 87, formerly of the 1300 block of Dewey Avenue, died Sunday, June 9, 2013, at Rose View Center where she had been a resident the past three years.
Daisy's husband of 52 years, Albert R. DiMassimo Sr., died Jan. 19, 1995.
Daisy was a life time member of Memorial Baptist Church and a faithful member of the Newberry Lioness. She was a first place ribbon winner for her canned tomatoes at the Bloomsburg Fair.
Daisy and her husband loved to go fishing and camping. She also had served as the Howard's Family Reunion President for twenty years.
Born May 27, 1926, in Williamsport, she was the daughter of Ordell and Sylvia (Eck) Howard.
Surviving are sons, Carl A. of Beech Creek, Albert R. Jr. of Montoursville and Les W. of Linden; daughter, Sylvia B. DiMassimo of South Williamsport; brothers, Clinton Howard of Coalport, Gilbert and Neil Howard both of Williamsport; eighteen grandchildren; forty-three great-grand- children and nine great-great-grandchildren.
Daisy was predeceased by a daughter, Julia Waltz Tagliaboski, who died Oct. 27, 1998, a brother, Joseph Howard; sisters, Marie Lusk, Irene Cline, Alberta Hammaker and Virginia Helminiak.
Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, at Wildwood Cemetery with Pastor Timothy R. Kinney Sr. officiating. There will be no visitation.
