Edmund E. (Skip) Shollenberger, 88, a resident of Ladera Ranch, Calif., passed away on Saturday, Oct. 27, 2012, in the Mission Hospital Regional Medical Center at Mission Viejo, Calif. Born in Montgomery, Lycoming County, Pa., on Sunday, June 15, 1924, he was the son of the late Edmund and Clara (Shafer) Shollenberger.
Edmund was the husband of Alma (Marek) Shollenberger with whom he celebrated a 49th wedding anniversary on May 24, 2012. He was a 1942 graduate of Montgomery-Clinton High School and received his master's degree from Indiana University. He honorably served during the Second World War in the European-African Theatre with the U.S. Army and was awarded the the Purple Heart.
He was employed as a production planner and in the engineering department of the Westinghouse Corp. for 30 years.
Edmund was a member of Muncy Lodge No. 299 F & AM, the Ancient & Accepted Scottish Rite, Valley of Williamsport and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He is survived by his wife; five children; nine grandchildren and one great-grandson.
A graveside memorial service will be conducted in the St John Lutheran "Brick" Cemetery, Route 405 Highway, Montgomery, Pa. at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 15, 2013, with Rev. James R. Pentz, pastor of the New Covenant Assembly at Montgomery, officiating. Graveside military honors will be accorded by the joint veterans organizations and a Masonic memorial service will be conducted by Muncy Lodge No. 299. Arrangements are being handled by the Galen R.
