What would you like to have done, if anything, to make Route 220 (between the W. Fourth St. exit and the Route 287 intersection) a safer road for all who live, work and travel it?
What are your thoughts on PA DOT's current attitude that "SR 220 is a principal arterial highway with the primary function of providing a high speed through route connection between I-180 and I-80"?
PA DOT has hired a planning, design and construction management firm to conduct a study to "identify and evaluate access changes" to improve safety on this section of the Route 220 corridor. What do you think would be the best way to improve safety? Sign updates, driveway closures, turn restrictions, acceleration and/or deceleration lanes, median treatments, service roads? Or traffic lights, reduce speeds, more police presence, I-99?
There will be a public meeting on Tuesday, June 25, 2013, 6pm - 8pm, at the Woodward Twp. Fire Hall for you to voice your opinion, make suggestions, etc. to make Route 220 a safer road for all of us.
