Maude Alice Murray, 89, of Mechanicsburg, passed away Thursday, June 13, 2013, at Country Meadows, of Mechanicsburg. Born Sept. 4, 1923, in Clearfield, she was the daughter of the late Rodger and Bessie (Hampton) Snyder.
Maude was a veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard serving during World War II. She was a former radio parts inspector for the Astatic Corporation, which supplied communication devices to the Navy during the war. In addition, Maude was employed by Divine Providence Hospital where she volunteered in the gift shop for over 27 years and was a former employee of The Carroll House Department Store and the S&H Green Stamp store, all located in Williamsport. She was a member of Faith United Methodist Church, Montoursville, and later joined Aldersgate United Methodist Church in Mechanicsburg.
Maude was preceded in death by her son, John Murray, and by her five brothers and four sisters. She is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, John T. Murray, three daughters Patricia Hull and husband David, of Kingsland, Texas, Karen Hartenstine and husband Don, of Lewisberry, Leslie Brown and husband Wayne, of Georgetown, Texas, six grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 19, 2013, at Malpezzi Funeral Home, Mechanicsburg. Burial will take place at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
