"We are so happy to be receiving this donation from the students in our Lycoming College Habitat Chapter", said Ana White, home development coordinator, of the $2,500 donation made recently to the local non-profit. "It's always great to see students give back in this way."
"On behalf of the members of the chapter, let me say that we appreciate all that you do and look forward to the 2013-14 school year," said Jeff LeCrone, advisor for the Lycoming College Habitat chapter.
The college chapter is expected to raise money for their partner affiliate through events they coordinate throughout the school year.

This year, as in years past, they held a 5K and various other events to help support the Habitat vision of a community in which everyone has a decent place to live.
Habitat homes are rehabilitated or built primarily with volunteers using money contributed by supporters. Through Habitat, good families are helped and the community at large benefits by the reduced presence of substandard housing.
Families go through a rigorous selection process that includes income verification to determine if they are credit worthy and financially responsible. Families who qualify for Habitat homes repay their mortgages over a 30-year period with no interest.
Adults in the household are required to provide 250 hours of sweat equity, with 100 hours working on their own home. These are hard-working families with a real need, who work with volunteers not only to build homes but to build strong relationships and give back to the communities where they live.
Greater Lycoming Habitat for Humanity serves Lycoming, Bradford, Tioga and eastern Clinton counties.
