Ruth Roslie Lockard, 83, of Harrisburg, passed away peacefully Saturday, June 22, 2013, at Colonial Park Care Center after a long illness.
She was born in Montoursville, Pa., on Nov. 28, 1929, a daughter of the late Floyd and Mae (Rayehorn) Reed.
Ruth was a housewife with a deep love for her family. She enjoyed cooking, crafting, and flowers. She was a member of the former Penn Garden Club. She was a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church, Harrisburg.
She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Henry E. Lockard; two sons, Henry D. Lockard and his companion Renie, and Marc K. Lockard and his wife Joanne; a daughter, Kimberly K. LeGates and her husband, James; a grandson, Brett and his wife Kristan; two great-grandchildren, Cayenne and Kobe; many nieces and nephews; a sister, Freda Baver and a sister-in-law, Charlotte Nichols.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Donna May; two brothers, William Nichols, brother, Floyd Reed Jr. and his wife, Freda and Helen Hofer and her husband, William Hofer.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, June 29, 2013, at Montoursville Cemetery at 11 a.m.
A memorial service to celebrate Ruth's life will be at a later date at the convenience of the family.
