Dorothy Lechmanick, 80, of 1513 W. Cardinal Drive, Sagamore Hills, died June 24, 2013, at her residence.
Born July 22, 1932, in Duryea, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Charles and Mary Walukonis Hodick of Lock Haven. She was married on Sept. 19, 1953, to Alex Lechmanick, who preceded her in death in March 2005.
A 1950 graduate of Immaculate Conception High School, she had previously worked in the medical records office of Lock Haven Hospital, as office assistant for the late Dr. Gerard McDonough, as secretary for the cafeteria manager of the Keystone Central Schools, secretary in the marketing department of Piper Aircraft, and retired in 1986 as manager of the revenue office at Lock Haven University.
An avid reader, she was a life member of the Friends of Ross Library and the Final Chapter Book Club, Catholic Daughters of the Americas, the Clinton County Herb Guild, Senior Circle, the Wheels of Lock Haven University, and an active member of Immaculate Conception Church.
Surviving are son, Dr. Eugene Lechmanick and wife Rose of Pittsburgh; daughter Patricia Kashner and husband Jeffrey of Stroudsburg; daughter Susan Ruane and husband Patrick of Williamsport; three grandsons, Justin Kashner and wife Adrienne of Raleigh, NC; Evan Ruane and Sean Ruane of Williamsport; one great-granddaughter, Kennedy Kashner; one sister, Charlotte Schilling and husband Gerald of Topsfield, MA; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Immaculate Conception Church, 310 W. Water St., Lock Haven at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 29, 2013. Friends may call at Moriarty Funeral Home and Crematory, 112 E. Church St., Lock Haven on Friday, June 28, 2013 from 6 until 8 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Lock Haven Catholic School Endowment Fund or Ross Library.
