Madeline P. McQuillen, 94, of Williamsport, died Wednesday, June 26, 2013, at her home.
Born May 26, 1919, in Grampian, she was a daughter to the late Harry and Margaret (Zeigler) Shaffer. She was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn B. McQuillen in 1996; a son, R. Barry McQuillen in 1986; a great-grandson, Devon and ten siblings.
Madeline was a 1937 graduate of Williamsport High School. She was a former member of Newberry United Methodist Church, and a current member of St. John's-Newberry United Methodist Church, and a member of the Order of the Felicitas Eastern Star. Madeline enjoyed her card club, which she was a member of for many years.
Madeline was a warm and loving mother and grandmother. She not only cared about her children, but for every child that crossed her path. Her heart and home was always open to everyone.
Surviving are six children, Virginia L. Batchelor of Montoursville, Glenn E. (Susan) McQuillen of Grove Port, Ohio, Donna M. (Richard) Hensler of Cogan Station, Debra A. (Dennis) Kaul of Missoula, Mont., Steven D. McQuillen of Williamsport and "adopted" daughter, Judy Nickliss of Muncy; 8 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and 17 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday at Sanders Mortuary, 821 Diamond St., Williamsport, with the Rev. Jay E. Jones and the Rev. David A. Keller co-officiating. Burial will follow in Montoursville Cemetery. Visitation will be held 10 to 11 a.m. at Sanders Mortuary.
