Elaine E. (Lovell) Liddick, 92, passed away peacefully at the Williamsport Home on June 26, 2013, where she had been a resident the past six years.
Elaine was born on Nov. 18, 1920, daughter of the late Barber and Blanche Shultz, Washingtonville. She was married to the late Walter Evan Lovell, with whom she shared her life for 27 years on a farm in Anthony Township. She worked hard while taking care of their six children, her live-in mother and working beside her husband until his death in 1968.
Elaine married a second time to Clarence Liddick of Linden, who passed away in 1990.
Elaine was a longtime member of the Pine Run United Methodist Church near Linden. She loved to crochet, embroider, work crossword puzzles, play card games and board games with her friends, and she was an avid reader. She was very knowledgeable about birds and flowers, both of which she greatly enjoyed.
Surviving are her six children, Jeanette (John) Brown of Jersey Shore, Lois (Clair) Waltz of Linden, Esther Templeton of Bel Air, Md., Roger (Helen) Lovell of Cogan Station, Dean Lovell of Joppa, Md. and Eileen (Stephen) Cole of San Angelo, Texas; eleven grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren and a great-great-granddaughter.
Elaine was predeceased by a sister, Ruby Maust, Bloomsburg and her step-brother, Allen Shultz, Washingtonville.
Family and friends are invited to attend Elaine's life celebration service at 11 a.m., Monday, July 1, 2013, at the Pine Run United Methodist Church, 1719 Pine Run Road, with Pastor Scott R. Koser officiating. There will be a visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be at the Woodward Township Cemetery.
