Dave Heffner, associate dean and chief information officer at Lycoming College, has been accepted into the Leading Change Institute, which will be held June 2 and 7 in Washington, D.C. He is one of 40 participants from higher education institutes from across the nation invited to attend the summer program.
The institute engages leaders who seek to further develop their skills for the benefit of higher education. The institute explores higher education challenges, empowering librarians and information technologists to initiate conversations and take action on issues of importance not just to their individual institutions, but to the entire higher education community.
Heffner will attend the program via the Leadership Through New Communities of Knowledge scholarship, funded by the Institute of Museum and Library Services. The conference is sponsored by the Council on Library and Information Resources and EDUCAUSE, a nonprofit organization and community of information technology leaders and professionals in higher education.
Heffner, who earned a bachelor's degree from Pennsylvania State University and a master's degree from Bloomsburg University, has worked at the college since 1994.
