James P. Dailey, 44, of Williamsport, was taken to the Williamsport Regional Medical Center for treatment of "major injuries" he suffered in a one-vehicle crash at Warrensville and Starr roads about 11:15 a.m. Friday, state police said.
Dailey, who was not wearing a seat belt, suffered a serious head injury when he lost control of a pickup truck that struck a culvert, police said.
Loyalsock Township volunteer firefighters extricated Dailey from the wreckage and transported him to the hospital, which does not provide condition reports on their patents.
"He is expected to recover from his injuries," a state trooper said.
Concerning another accident Shirley G. Lorenz, 71, of Unityville, remained in fair condition in Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, with injuries suffered in a one-car crash on Route 118 in Moreland Township on the morning of June 17, a nursing supervisor said Saturday night.
Lorenz's Mercury Grand Marquis struck two guardrails, state police said.
A passenger, her 78-year-old husband, Walter, was taken to the Williamsport Regional Medical Center.
In a crash near Morris, Clay C. Graham, 37, of Wellsboro, suffered minor injuries when his pickup truck struck a deer on Route 287 in Pine Township about 6:30 a.m. Thursday, state police said.
In a crash near Hughesville, Richard P. Cobb, 75, of Shunk, and a passenger, Beth Cobb, 50, also of Shunk, were taken to Williamsport Hospital for injuries they suffered when a tractor-trailer slammed into the rear of their SUV on Route 405 in front of McDonald's in Wolf Township about 9 a.m. on June 10, state police said Saturday night.
The impact pushed the SUV into a pickup truck parking in the McDonald's lot, police said.
The driver of the rig was Charles Nye, of Oxford, N.Y.
In another crash on Route 405 in Wolf Township, Christopher L. Nelson, 25, of Jersey Shore, and two passengers, Jolene Stahl, 31, of Williamsport, and a 11-year-old New Columbia girl, were injured when their car struck the rear a pickup truck about 2:45 p.m. on June 22, police said Saturday night.
The other driver, Reynaldo Jandres, 32, of Manassas, Va., suffered minor injuries, police said.
Police said alcohol was involved when Noel E. Ladd, 48, of Allenwood, crashed her car on Gap Road in Washington Township about 6:10 p.m. on June 1, and it landed upside down in White Deer Hole Creek.
She also was taken by ambulance to the Williamsport Hospital for moderate injuries.
No charges have been filed, but the investigation into the crash was ongoing, police said.
State police said Saturday night that Kenneth R. Wade, of Lewisburg, escaped injury when his tractor-trailer truck jackknifed on Interstate 180 in Muncy Township about 8 a.m. on June 10.
