Marion Ida Gardner, 80, of Williamsport, died Friday, June 28, 2013, at her home.
Born Nov. 20, 1932, in Elmira, N.Y., she was a daughter of the late Sylvester and Lillian Hamilton Bailey. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Gardner in 1997; two sons, Jack E. Gardner in 2005 and Steven M. Gardner in 2011; two sisters and three brothers.
She had worked at Harrison Meat Packing. In her younger years, she was an avid deer hunter. Marion loved yard sales and flea markets, and loved all her treasures she would find. She would help anybody and everybody in need.

Everyone knew her as Mom Gardner and Miss Mary. Surviving are four children, Robert H. Gardner (Marie) of Nisbet, Ruby Shipe of Harrisburg, Rose Gardner of Williamsport, and Carol Gardner of Rome; 15 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 3 at Sanders Mortuary, 821 Diamond St., Williamsport, with Pastor Gary Runtas officiating. Burial will follow in Wildwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at Sanders.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the funeral home. The family especially thanks her grandaughter, April Gardner, for all the special care and love she gave to her grandmother. Also a special thank you to her hospice nurses, Linda Ruggiers, Jolene Confer and Sarah McCloskey. She will be missed by many and now the time has come for her to go home.
