Geraldine E. Phillips, 96, formerly of Williamsport, passed away Saturday, June 29, 2013, at Valley View Nursing Center where she had been a guest for over 3 years.
She was born in Lock Haven, June 17, 1917, a daughter of Charles V. and Annis A. Alexander Rosamilia. She was a shipping clerk for over 18 years, retiring in 1977 from Glamorise Foundations Inc.
She was married in 1939 to her husband, Raymond W. Phillips, who passed away Aug. 28, 1966.
She was a member and charter member of Trinity Gospel Church in Williamsport. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading and traveling and loved to spend time with her family.
She is survived by three sons, Karl E. McCloskey (Helen) of Muncy, Raymond W. Phillips of Norman, Okla. and Charles G. Phillips (Berniece) of South Williamsport; two daughters, Delores J. Morehart of Battle Creek, Mich. and Annette L. "Sue" Raymond (Donald) of Cogan Station; along with two step-daughters, Nancy Hepburn of Loyalsock and Anna Palmer of Williamsport. She was predeceased by two sons, Paul L. McCloskey and Benny F. Phillips; one sister, Philomena M. Jarret and a brother, Vincentia Rosamilia. She is further survived by many grandchildren; and three generations of great-grandchildren; nearly 300 direct descendents in all.
Geraldine's Life Celebration will begin with a visitation from 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, July 2, 2013, at the Maneval Funeral Home, "A Life Celebration Home," 500 W. Fourth St., Williamsport, where services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday July 3, 2013. Interment will follow in Montoursville Cemetery. Contributions may be made to Trinity Gospel Church, 1010 Elmira St., Williamsport, PA 17701.
