Shirley Joan (Drum) Corson, 71, of Jefferson St., Milton, passed away on June 29, 2013, at Evangelical Community Hospital in Lewisburg. Born in Montgomery on June 4, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Reuben and Julia Drum. She was married on July 13, 1963, to Roger D. Corson who preceded her in death on July 10, 2009.
She was a 1960 graduate of Montgomery High School and a 1963 graduate of the Williamsport Hospital School of Nursing. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Milton. Shirley worked as a registered nurse and as a nurse's aide trainer at Kramm Healthcare Center in Milton and Watsontown. She was a member of the Milton Booster Club and of Junior Women's Club in Milton. She enjoyed playing bridge, pinochle, and board games. Shirley liked to travel with her husband, go to their cabin at Beaver Lake, Pa., and to just be out in nature. She loved to spend time with her children and grandchildren.
Shirley is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Pam Corson and Geoffrey Prudhomme of Pipersville, Pa.; a son and daughter-in-law, Mark Corson and Kris Kauffman of Raleigh, N.C.; and five grandchildren, Jarrett, Devan, Oliver, Margaux, and Theodore.
She was preceded in death by four brothers and a sister.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, July 5 at 3 p.m. at the Shaw Funeral Home, 400 N. Front St., Milton. Friends and relatives will be received from 2 to 3 p.m. Officiating will be Rev. Cheryl Berner. A private burial in Muncy Cemetery will be held at a later date.
