Elizabeth M. "Libby" Metzger, 90, of Eldred Township, Williamsport, passed away Monday, July 1, 2013, at her residence. She was born July 9, 1922, in Grampian, Pa., a daughter of James M. and Anna Donahue Quigley.
Libby served in the W.A.C.'s during World War II; was a life member of American Legion Post 104 in Montoursville, and was a member of the N.R.A. She enjoyed gardening, hunting, and fishing.
Libby was predeceased by her husband, Richard "Dick" Metzger; a daughter, Joyce Ann Metzger; three sisters, Maude Wright, Josephine Cathcart, and Helen Litz and brothers, Willard, Thomas, Albert, Eddie, and Robert Quigley.
Libby is survived by her sons, Alan C. Metzger of Eldred Twp., and Dennis l. Metzger of Montoursville; a daughter, Deborah M. (John) Hagen of Virginia; sisters, Anna Marie, and Pauline Quigley of Grampian; seven grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, July 5, 2013, at the Spitler Funeral Home, 733 Broad St., Montoursville. Interment will follow in Montoursville Cemetery with Military Honors accorded by the Korean War Veterans of Lycoming Co. Friends will be received on Friday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
