Eagle Rock Winery to host First Friday wine-tasting and art gallery reception
The Eagle Rock Winery will host a wine-tasting party and art gallery reception 5 to 9 p.m. Friday. "Island Art and Chardonnay" will offer free samples of Eagle Rock's award-winning wines, tasty treats and live music. The event is free and open to the public.
The art gallery will feature island-themed paintings and prints that invoke the colorful sights and scenes of the artists' homelands. The exhibit will also include the works of wire sculptor, Mark Golomb, ceramic artist, Kathy Sterngold, and photographer, Kelly Stabley.
Eagle Rock Winery is located at 414 West Fourth St., across the street from the Peter Herdic House and one block west of the Cinema Center movie theater. It offers a full complement of red and white wines, as well as a large assortment of wine-related accessories, gift items, specialty foods and handmade crafts. The store is located in a fully restored Victorian house in Williamsport's historic district and offers a variety of facilities for hosting catered events. Eagle Rock Wines are produced in-house at its main winery in Laporte.

DuBoistown Garden Club elects new president
Nancy Hennigan recently was elected and installed at president of the DuBoistown Garden Blub for 2013 to 2015.
Other club members include Carolyn Cosentine, first vice president; Susan Mahoney, second vice president; Gina Turner, recording secretary; Joyce Wenner, corresponding secretary; Saline Bischof, treasurer; and Mary Lou Missigman, assistant treasurer.
The chairwomen of the standing committee are Saline Bischof, budget committee; Edna Schooley, membership committee; Cora Lynn Jordan, Parliamentarian committee; Joan Eastlake, program committee; Mary Louise Kissell, publicity committee; and Patricia Kaczmarek, scholarship committee.
As president, Hennigan believes that the club can work together as a team - Together Everyone Achieves More.
