Some in the country call Edward Snowden a hero because of his leaking classified information. Was he? Let us look at some facts. He was a technical assistant for the NSA, (National Security Agency).
Many news agencies are reporting what Snowden has said. "I'm willing to sacrifice all of that because I can't in good conscience allow the U.S. government to destroy privacy, internet freedom and basic liberties for people around the world with this massive surveillance machine they're secretly building." In this statement, he was referring to how he is risking his life, house, freedom and a girlfriend due to leaking classified information.
Is it not possible that he is telling the world how we protect our country? Bearing this in mind, I fear that our enemies now have a way to destroy the United States of America; something many in this world would be quite happy to see. After all, we do like to knock the top dog from his or her perch.
Whenever the government tries to take away our freedoms, I for one would do all I could to prevent this. Not by leaving my great country, but by standing up and facing the politicians that wish to bring most of us to our knees. Yes, it could be quite dangerous for me do so, but I will never take the cowardly way out by rung to other countries.
All Americans need to wake up and face the fact, that jealousy, revenge, and money will always be the reasons many human beings wish to destroy those who have worked hard and earned their stripes in life.
Had Edward Snowden stayed in the United States and fought the wrongs he felt the government had done, then I would be the first to call him a hero.
Today, I think of him as a coward and somebody who wishes to destroy the United States of America. As long as many others and I have a breath, we will fight to keep this country the greatest nation in the world.
