George William Lockcuff, 91, of Queneshaque Road, Linden, died Sunday, July 7, 2013, at the Williamsport Home.
Born April 13, 1922, in Williamsport, he was a son of the late John and Della Imms Lockcuff. He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years Doris L. (Wurster) Lockcuff on March 26, 1998, and was the youngest and last of eight siblings who passed before him.
He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II, served in Pearl Harbor, and attained the rank of staff sergeant. George retired from the maintenance department at AVCO and also worked and cared for his family farm. He was made honorary fire chief at the Woodward Township Volunteer Fire Company for his many hours of volunteer service to the company, where he especially enjoyed mowing the grass there. He was a life member of the Henry's Bar B-Q coffee crew and enjoyed his John Deere Tractors.

Surviving are two children, Peggy Anne Mahaffey (Robert) of Williamsport, and William O. Lockcuff (Deb) of Linden; six grandchildren, Darryle Mahaffey (Lori), Darrin Mahaffey (Sue), Dennis Mahaffey (Mary), Denise Twigg (Robert), Michelle McClure (Richard) and Wendy Mahonski (Wayne) and 12 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, July 11 at Sanders Mortuary, 821 Diamond St., Williamsport. Burial will be held in Jersey Shore Cemetery with military honors accorded by the Jersey Shore Honor Guard. Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Thursday at Sanders Mortuary.
