ELKLAND - Christopher Mackie, 45, of 315 Station Road, Lawrenceville, was charged by Lawerenceville police with loitering and prowling at night and public drunkenness recently.
According to documents filed at District Judge Brian Edgcomb's office, police were dispatched to the Cynthia Burrows residence, 35 State St. Nov. 1, 2012, where Mackie was allegedly trying to gain access to her home.
He then knocked on the door and tried to open the passenger side door of her son Jeremiah's vehicle according to police. Her husband and son went outside and told him to leave and he left walking east on State Street.
Police said Mackie is under investigation for a theft and criminal trespass in another resident's yard.
He originally told police he was home by 2:20 a.m. Nov. 1.
He was issued a summons to appear at an Aug. 8 preliminary hearing.
