MILTON - The Buffalo Valley Recreation Authority will sponsor a golf tournament July 20 at the Wynding Brook Golf Club.
The "Hit the Links" tournament will be a two-person scramble beginning at 1 p.m. Sign-in begins at 11:30 a.m. All proceeds will benefit the Buffalo Valley Rail Trail in Lewisburg.
Registration is online at www.bvrec.org. There will be a fee for each golfer, which includes golf cart, greens fee, a cookout after the tournament and prizes to the different winners of each flight.
The Buffalo Valley Recreation Authority also is seeking sponsors for the tournament. The levels of sponsorship include Platinum Sponsor ($900), Gold Sponsor ($600), Silver Sponsor ($300) and Hole Sponsor ($100 per hole). All donations and sponsorships are 100 percent tax deductible.
"We are thrilled to sponsor what we hope will become an annual event for BVRA. We know that golfers in the area will come out to enjoy the beautiful Wynding Brook Golf Club in Milton as well as to help support the Buffalo Valley Rail Trail," Katie Davis, executive director of the Buffalo Valley Recreation Authority, said.
The mission of the Buffalo Valley Recreation Authority is to provide a comprehensive, year-round, varied and stimulating recreation program for people of all ages and abilities. The Buffalo Valley Rail Trail, opened in November 2012, is a nine-mile trail from Mifflinburg to Lewisburg. Since its opening, the trail has become an important recreation site used year-round by bikers, hikers, walkers and anyone interested in enjoying the scenery between Mifflinburg and Lewisburg. Proceeds will help provide maintenance and upkeep for the trail so that residents of the area can continue to enjoy it for years to come.
