Rep. Thomas A. Marino, R-Cogan Station, recently hosted a farewell brunch for 10th District service academy nominees. Students reported to their respective academies for swearing in ceremonies and the commencement of summer training.
"Every year I have the privilege of nominating our district's most qualified and accomplished young men and women," Marino said in a press release. "The commitment to serve our nation at the highest level is a noble decision, and I look forward to seeing these future leaders shape our nation in the years to come."
Families and members of Marino's service academy nomination board also were in attendance for the sendoff brunch.
The application deadline for the 2013-14 school year is Oct. 4. Interested students are encouraged to contact Philip Pulizzi in Marino's Washington office at 202-225-3731.
