James J. McDonough Jr., 72, of 281 Norton Road, Forksville, Pa., died early Tuesday morning July 16, 2013, at the Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.
Born July 24, 1940, in Philadelphia, he was the son of James J. and Mary McDonough Sr. Earlier in his life he was a sales representative at Don Breon Ford and later retired from Fitzpatrick-Lambert Ford in Dushore. He was a founding member of the S.V.B.T. and was a member of the Jersey Shore Elks No. 1057. Jim loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter.
He is survived by his wife, the former Monika Linde, they were united in marriage Aug. 6, 1978. Also surviving is a daughter, Colleen (Rich) Irace of Towanda; three sons, Mark (Alicia) McDonough of Newton, N.J., James J. (Mary) McDonough of Avis and Christopher (Rhonda) McDonough of Jersey Shore; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one step-son, John J. (Angel) Gilchrist of Mount Wolf, Pa.; one step-daughter, Janet T. (Dennis) Schlegel of Lehigh Valley, Pa. and five step-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be announced at a later date by the Frederick B. Welker Funeral Home, 125 N. Main St., Jersey Shore.
