Sarah E. Metzger, 74, a resident of Muncy, formerly of Huntersville, passed away on Thursday, July 18, 2013, in the Geisinger Medical Center at Danville.
Born in Muncy Creek Township on Monday, Sept. 5, 1938, she was the daughter of the late John and Martha (Puderbaugh) Summers.
Sarah was the widow of Foster G. "Butch" Metzger who preceded her in death on Feb. 28, 2010. She was a 1956 graduate of Hughesville High School and retired from the East Lycoming School District where she was employed on the custodial staff.
Sarah was a "domestic engineer" who was constantly in motion.
She is survived by one daughter, Cindy A. Duck and her fiance Dave Bremigen, of Montoursville; five sons, Steven Evelhair, of Montoursville, Scott (Bonnie) Evelhair, of Williamsport, Jeffrey (Brenda) Evelhair, of Montgomery, Brian (Tammy) Evelhair, of Linden, and Lewis Metzger, of Muncy; four brothers, Wayne Summers, of Hughesville, Herman Summers, of Montgomery, Lewis Summers, of Muncy, and Luther Summers, of Unityville. Sarah is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Sarah was preceded in death by one brother, Ronald Summers, and one sister, Frances Swisher.
A graveside service will be conducted in the Fairview Cemetery, 1706 Cemetery Road, Montgomery, 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 24, 2013, with Harold Brown, of the Lycoming Valley Baptist Church, officiating.
