A man was stabbed by another individual during an altercation involving a group of people in the backyard of a home in the 1500 block of Memorial Avenue about 9:30 p.m. Thursday, city police said.
The man, believed to be in his 40s, was not identified by police. He initially received treatment locally and was taken to a trauma center for additional treatment, according to police Lt. Steven Helm.
According to Helm, the man was stabbed in the back. As of presstime Friday, police had not released the cause of the altercation, nor did they identify a suspect.
Helm declined to say whether police had the weapon that was used to stab the man.
