Aguadulce Cabezera Little League from Agualuce, Panama, earned the Latin American regional title Saturday in Guyaquil, Ecuador, and a spot in the Little League World Series Aug. 15-25 at Lamade and Volunteer Stadiums.
Aguadulce beat San Francisco LL from Maracaibo, Venezuela, 6-2 in the championship. Aguadulce went 6-0, outscoring the opposition 51-11.
This is the seventh entry from Panama since 1984 and first since Chitre LL from Chitre qualified in 2010.
The Canadian berth is the only remaining International berth to be decided. It runs the same time as the United States regionals, which begin this weekend. The U.S. regional finals run Aug. 7-11 on ESPN channels.
Berths already decided are Chung-Ping LL from Taoyuan, Taiwan (Asia-Pacific), Perth Metro Central LL from Perth (Australia), Samaritana LL from San Lorenzo, P.R. (Caribbean), South Moravia LL from Brno, Czech Republic (Europe and Africa), Musashi Fuchu LL from Tokyo (Japan) and Municipal De Tijuana LL from Tijuana, Baja California (Mexico).
