Shoplifting alleged of Clinton County man
A Clinton County man has been charged with misdemeanor shoplifting and receiving stolen property for allegedly stealing a $399 cordless trim nailer from Lowe's, 701 N. Loyalsock Ave., on June 20, according to Montoursville police.
Following his recent arraignment before District Judge Gary A. Whiteman, Dustin Scott Askey, 28, of Mill Hall, was committed to the Lycoming County Prison in lieu of $15,000 bail.
Furnishing alcohol to minors alleged
Singh Rameshwar, 21, of 639 Grace St., has been charged with furnishing alcoholic beverages to a person underage and unlawful acts concerning alcoholic beverages, according to state police.
Rameshwar is alleged to have purchased $40 worth of alcoholic beverages for 20-year-old Heather Renee Krepps at the Wines and Spirits Store on Hepburn Street in the city on June 8, police said. He has been sent a summons to appear before District Judge James Carn.
Charge withdrawn against woman; city man pleads guilty to drugs in another case
A separate cases, a 44-year-old city man pleaded guilty to a drug charge while state police dropped a drug charge against a 22-year-old Maryland woman.
In a recent plea agreement before District Judge James Carn, Eric Tyson,, of 421 Campbell St., pleaded guilty to a single count of possession of marijuana after city police agreed to withdraw charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and public drunkenness.
The charges stem from an incident in the 600 block of Grace Street on April 9, police said. Tyson made arrangements to pay $504 in fines and court costs.
In the other case, state police withdrew a charge of possession of marijuana against Lareine Rita Karpouzian, 22, of College Park, Md., due to insufficient evidence. The charge stemmed from an incident on Route 220 in the city on April 25, police said.
Man, 25, allegedly assaults woman
Lamont Hobbs Chaney, 25, of 702 Diamond St., has been charged with simple assault and harassment for allegedly assaulting a woman in his house by first knocking her to the ground and slamming her head several times against the floor about 2:50 a.m. on July 13, city police said.
The victim is not identified in court records.
Following his arraignment later that morning before District Judge Jon E. Kemp, Chaney was jailed in the Lycoming County Prison, but has since been released on $35,000 bail.
Theft, receiving stolen property alleged
Kevin Michael Saltsman, 22, of 331 High St., has been charged with theft and receiving stolen property for allegedly stealing video games and gaming accessories from Daryl Ryan's home at 724 Krouse Ave. between June 21 and June 23, city police said.
Already on probation for shoplifting, Saltsman, jailed since July 2, remains behind bars in the Lycoming County Prison on a probation violation and in lieu of $2,500 bail.
Police: Woman needed 'quick money'
for drugs when she sold stepfather's gun
JERSEY SHORE - Admitting she needed "quick money" to support her drug habit, Trista Ann Myers, 27, of 35 Van Burren Road, Limestone Township, stole her stepfather's $400 CVA muzzleloader and sold it in order to get the cash, state police said in court records.
Myers, who lived with her stepfather, Jeff Parsons, sold the muzzleloader in mid-July, police said.
Charged with theft and receiving stolen property, Myers was arraigned before District Judge James H. Sortman and initially committed to the Lycoming County Prison, but has since been released on $15,000 bail.
