Leslie M. Williams, 71, of Williamsport, died in the arms of her husband Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2013, at Williamsport Medical Regional Center
Born Nov. 29, 1941, in Lock Haven, she was the daughter of Robert O. and the late Tessie (Confer) Winkleman.
She married Elbert Williams on Aug. 10, 1962, and would have celebrated their 51st wedding anniversary this Saturday. She enjoyed vacationing to Ocean City, Md., with her husband where they both enjoyed fine dining and the seashore. Leslie also enjoyed reading and being a devoted and loving mother.
Leslie was a culinary graduate of Pennsylvania College of Technology and worked there for almost 16 years as a chef. She also was a cook at Denny's and retired in the year 2000 from Fox's Restaurant. In addition to being a chef, she also worked as a pay roll clerk at LL Stern's department store, Lowry Electric, Nancy Pants, and Weldons.
Surviving in addition to her husband, are a son, Roger Williams (Barbara) of Bloomsburg; a brother, Robert G. Winkleman (Sherry) of South Williamsport; and two grandchildren, Amanda and Curtis.
Leslie was preceded in death by her mother, Tessie Confer (Winkleman); paternal grandparents, Olan and Verna Winkleman; and maternal grandparents, Gayland and Fannie Confer.
A visitation will be held 6 to 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 9 at Knight Confer Funeral Home, 1914 Memorial Ave., Williamsport. A memorial service will begin following the visitation at 7 p.m. Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
