Mrs. Shirley Irene Giordano, 75, of Williamsport, died Friday Aug. 2, 2013, at her home. Shirley had been a long time resident of South Williamsport and was formerly of Lewisburg.
She was born Aug. 31, 1937, at Mazeppa, Union County, Pa., the daughter of the late James F. and Irene L. Mark Long. A graduate of Lewisburg High School, class of 1956, Shirley retired as a bookeeper from Susquehanna Health in 1997.
Mrs. Giordano loved to knit, travel and most enjoyed being involved with her grandchildren and family. She will be remembered as Nana to the grandchildren and as a beacon of guiding light to her family and friends.
She is survived by her daughter, Tina Marie Bilbay, of South Williamsport; her son, Michael James Giordano of Saint Augustine, Fla., and her six grandchildren, Angelo J. Giordano, Marissa C. Bilbay, Trey W. Bilbay, and Sean T. Bilbay, all of South Williamsport and Ceanna Elizabeth Giordano and Cyan Nicolaus Giordano of Saint Augustine, Fla.
In addition to her late parents, she was also preceded in death by her grandson, Trent W. Bilbay.
There will be no visitation and a private family service will be held. A private burial will be held at Union Church Cemetery in Mazeppa.
