Helen T. Dadas, 94, of Blossburg, Pa., died Aug. 7, 2013, at Broad Acres in Wellsboro.
Born in Morris Run on May 22, 1919, Helen was a daughter of the late John and Frances (Marchiniak) Saporowski. She was employed as a LPN at Blossburg Hospital until its closure and later enjoyed working as an aide at Blossburg's Elementary School. Helen was a member of Blossburg's St. Mary's Catholic Church and the former St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Morris Run. She was a wonderful cook and baker who enjoyed times shared with her family.
Surviving are her son, Eugene (Marilyn) Kurzejewski of Jersey Shore; two granddaughters, Anne Walko of Red Lion and Regina Kennedy of Williamsport; three great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Helen was predeceased by her first husband, Frank Kurzejewski in 1953; second husband, Frank Dadas in 1998, and five siblings, Martha Saporowski, Marion Kujawa, Sally Isaac, Stephen Zaporoski and Floyd Soper.
Calling hours are Monday 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday 9 to 10 a.m. at Zwicharowski Funeral Home, 314 Granger St., Blossburg. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Interment will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Morris Run. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity or organization of one's choice.
