Carl Kenneth Myers Jr., 63, of Salladasburg area, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, Aug. 7, 2013 at Rose View Center, with his wife by his side.
Born Aug. 12, 1949 in Jersey Shore, he was the son of the late Carl K. Sr. and Elva (Williamson) Myers. His sister Karen Myers passed away February this year. Surviving is his wife of 40 years Kathleen (Rolley) Myers; his mother-in-law Coralie Rolley; sister-in-law Judy Schaad, her husband Joe Schaad and their son Stephen.
Ken was a 1967 graduate of Jersey Shore High School. Following graduation, he was employed by Williamsport Sanitary Authority as a Plant Operator at the West Plant. He ended his faithful service there as Senior Plant Operations Manager after 46 years on July 31, 2013.
Ken was a member of Newberry Church of Christ. When in better health he taught an adult Bible class, was a Jr. Church teacher, and was involved in calling on church visitors.
Ken and Kathy enjoyed gardening and traveling to historic places. Ken especially enjoyed rabbit hunting with his beagles and fly fishing. His inner strength, courage, honesty, and faith will be remembered by those who knew him best.
A memorial service will be held 1:00 p.m. today at Newberry Church of Christ, 822 Diamond St., Williamsport. In keeping with the family's wishes, there will be no visitation and burial will be private.
