A neighborhood meeting regarding the demolition of the former Brodart warehouse will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday at Oliver Street and Memorial Avenue.
Representatives from city government, the demolition contractor, engineering firm and a pest control company will be available to speak about the project details.
John Grado, city engineer and director of community and economic development, said the plan is to raze the vacant and aged warehouse to begin construction of a multi-housing unit. The plan is to build 40 apartments followed by 32 townhouses, he said.
The housing development is to be called Memorial Homes. A number of neighbors in the area may be eligible for home improvements in a neighborhood improvement program conducted by the county, STEP and the city, he said.
