Williamsport lost, 5-2, in the opener of a two-game series with Batavia on Friday night.
The Muckdogs enjoyed a good offensive performance recording 13 hits in with 10 of those 13 coming off Cutters starting pitcher Mitch Gueller, who struggled during his four innings.
Gueller allowed four runs and fell to 3-6 this year. The former supplemental first-round draft pick hasn't won since July 6.
Felix Munoz helped the Muckdogs jump out to an early 1-0 lead in the first inning, when he hit a single to center field that scored J.T. Riddle.
In the bottom of the second inning, the Muckdogs added to their early lead after going on a six-hit flurry that helped them score three more runs.
The Cutters responded in the top of the fourth inning by scoring a run of their own when Dylan Cozens was driven home by Gustavo Martinez.
The Cutters remained scoreless through the game's last five innings, as they were held to just three hits.
With the loss, the Cutters record falls to 26-29 on the season. They will get a chance to avenge their loss tonight, as they finish out their two-game series with Batavia at 7 p.m.
