State police have released the identity of the driver injured Thursday morning in a one-vehicle crash at East Third Street and Country Club Drive as Erick Edler, 33, of 1121 Factory Road, Cogan Station.
Edler's pickup truck slammed into light standard about 8 a.m., and he was trapped in the vehicle for about 20 minutes.
He was admitted to the Williamsport Regional Medical Center, but the hospital does not provide condition reports on patients.
Concerning another crash, this one near Towanda, the medical condition of a volunteer firefighter struck allegedly by a drunk driver while directing traffic about 12:20 a.m. on Aug. 10 has improved.
Clinton A. Houghtaling, 25, a Herricksville Township volunteer firefighter, has been upgraded from stable to fair condition, according to a nursing supervisor at the Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre.
Police said the firefighter was struck on Rummerfield Creek Road by a vehicle driven by 19-year-old Travis Lee Taylor, of Wyalusing, who was jailed on a charge of aggravated assault by motor vehicle while driving under the influence of intoxicants.
