Stephen H. Rogers, 72, of 539 Mill Road, South Williamsport, Pa., died on Monday, Aug. 19, 2013, in Pittsburgh, PA.
Steve was born at Williamsport, Pa., on April 10, 1941, he was the son of Harry Lester and Catherine Josephine (Dincher) Rogers.
Steve was a graduate of the former Saint Mary's High School of Williamsport, Pa., class of 1959.
He married his wife, the former Edna Miller, on Nov. 9, 1963. Together they shared 49 years of marriage.
Stephen Rogers was a U.S. Army Veteran.
He was a member of Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, where he was a member of the Holy Name Society and taught CCD classes. He was also a member of the West Branch Builders Association, and was an active member of the Pennsylvanians for Human Life.
Steve worked as a carpenter and was the co-owner and founder of Miller and Rogers Home Builders along with his business partner Warren Miller, where he worked for forty years.
Surviving are his wife Edna Rogers, of Limestone Township and two sons and four daughters, Christopher (Cherie) Rogers, of South Williamsport, Frederick (Tina) Rogers, of Jersey Shore, Stephanie Marie Lape, of McElhattan, Pa., Paula (Darren) Meixel, of South Williamsport, Jolene (Donald) Wilton, of Cogan Station and Alicia (Steven) Koch, of Williamsport. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Violet Rogers, and Mary Holt; as well as two brothers, Milton Rogers, and, Bruce Rogers.
Stephen was preceded in death by his late parents and a brother, Stuart Rogers.
Friends and family will be received Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2013, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Charles M. Noll Funeral Home, South Williamsport, Pa.
Funeral services and the Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, Bastress, on Aug. 22, 2013, at 10 a.m. with Father Bert S. Kozen officiating.
Interment will follow in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Bastress Township.
