The Community Foundation for the Twin Tiers solicited proposals from non-profits organizations in Sullivan County for addressing the needs of the county.
The foundation members felt that both projects greatly benefit Sullivan County and divided funding between both agencies. The library and club were awarded $325 each.
The foundation helps caring citizens, corporations, other foundations, charitable organizations and government agencies that want to give back to their community establish endowment funds for the charitable purposes they care about.
As the endowment funds grow in value, the foundation uses the interest earned on them to make grants to organizations or projects that serve the identified community needs.
